MAGNETIC TUBES & GRATE MAGNETS

We offer a wide range of Grate Magnets and Magnetic Tubes, using our latest magnetic designs to offer exceptional pulling force and industry required surface Gauss levels, at very competitive prices.
With either Ceramic range suited to larger ferrous metal removal, our NPB range rated at 4400 Gauss which are designed to suit the plastics industry and our NHI Range of 11200 Gauss suited to fine particle removal and certifiable for the food industry. These magnets provide a very economical way to remove ferrous metal contamination from any product stream as they can easily be fitted or mounted.
We have wide range of Grate Magnets and Magnetic Tubes which can be delivered ex-stock or bought online for next delivery. We also offer our “customisation is our standard” philosophy meaning we can supply a Grate magnet or Magnetic Tubes to suit your exact needs.
Grate Magnet
Bunting Magnetics Europe Grate Magnets or Magnetic Grates , as they are sometime known, are manufactured with a 25mm Tube Magnet from high quality 304 Stainless Steel , 316 Stainless Steel is an option for high corrosive applications and can also be supplied Food Grade if required. Offered to suit Square or Round Openings and with optional baffles, our standard sizes range from 100mm to 1000mm. These Grate Magnets are an economical option as they can be placed in hoppers or feed pipes to collect ferrous and are ideally suited where they are easy to remove for cleaning. Heavy Duty Grates are also available for High Flow Rates and Hard to Handel and easily bridging materials.
Magnetic Tubes
Our Magnetic Tubes or as they often called Magnetic Cartridges, Magnetic Rods or Tube Magnets are designed to provide the optimum balance between holding force and reach out. Manufactured from high quality 304 Stainless Steel and supplied as standard in a Diameter of 25mm, our standard sizes range from, 100mm to 600mm in length and come with a tapped end hole for easy fitting. An optional end plug with no tapped hole is also available.
Magnetic Tubes
Magnetic Tubes
Cartridge Magnets from Bunting Magnetics might also be referred to as magnetic rods or magnetic tubes.
They are primarily used to extract ferrous metal contaminants from a product flow or line that passes directly over the magnet’s surface. The kinds of ferrous metal removed will often be things like nuts and bolts. Available in a variety of high strength versions, Bunting Magnetics can provide solutions to materials that are ferrimagnetic and ferromagnetic. Paramagnetic and antiferromagnetic materials can also be captured in this way.

Grate Magnets
Grate Magnets
The task of Bunting’s range of grate magnets is to extract fine ferrous fragments and particles as well as larger pieces of metal from dry, gravity fed, free flowing materials. Often seen used in industries like plastics, food and pharmaceutical, they can be suitable for other applications and industries too.
Bunting’s cartridge magnets form part of the make-up of grate magnets and they are combined (welded together) into frames of stainless steel ensuring they are incredibly strong. The magnetic forces of the grate magnets combine with those of the cartridges or rods and together they interact to produce very strong magnetic fields in the gaps (25mm or 1 inch) between.
Select from square, rectangle or round configurations as Bunting Grate Magnets can be used inside a range of hoppers, bins, chutes or housings to provide effective metal contamination protection. To break up and direct product flow over the cartridges, angled baffles (optional) can be used to increase performance levels.
If only a standard size grate magnet is required, these are available in Bunting’s ValueMag™ range and once ordered, will be quickly dispatched from stock. However, if something a little more bespoke is required, then please contact Bunting’s technical team to work out the best options and solutions for your particular magnetic separation requirements.

Cartridge & Grate Magnets
Cartridge Magnets from Bunting Magnetics might also be referred to as magnetic rods, magnetic tubes or separator grids.
A number of models are available in this range of cartridge magnets with a choice of Neodymium Power-Balanced™ Rare Earth or Neodymium High-Intensity Rare Earth Temperature Compensated models, in addition to ceramic and Alnico versions. When opting for one of the standard models, the construction will either be from 316 stainless steel for sanitary installations or 304 stainless steel. The standard cartridge diameter is 25mm or 1 inch. If cartridge magnets are required for applications with high flow rates or for when bridging might be possible, a better option is the heavy-duty range. These square rods provide a greater reach as well as almost twice the magnetic surface area of the standard cylindrical model, with a diameter of 38mm or 1.5 inches.
Bunting’s range of cartridge magnets which are easily installed into processing equipment feature either plain or tapped ends. They are available in a number of different lengths and are often purchased as inspection tools. In addition to being used in a standalone way as described above, they also serve as the main component in other magnetic separators like magnetic traps and grate magnets.
With such a number of available cartridge types, it can perhaps be difficult to work out which ones are best for your relevant applications and industries. The Bunting team are in place to help in any way they can, with advice and guidance regarding which cartridge is most suitable for the materials, flow rate and various kinds of ferrous metals in your particular situation.
