HUB4 Visits Master Magnets

As part of our 40th anniversary celebration, we invited David Roberts from HUB-4 to our manufacturing plant in Redditch, UK.  With business strong following two successful exhibitions (Hillhead and RWM), David was able to see a busy shop floor.

On a tour around the factory, we showed David the Eddy Current Separator that was sold by Jonathan Millington at the RWM recycling and waste exhibition (September 2018).  The Eddy Current Separator will be part of a Metal Separation Module that includes a Drum Magnet and Vibratory Feeder.

At the RWM show, there was a high level of interest in the Stainless Steel Magnetic Separator.  Visitors to the show have sent in samples to test on the equipment to prove the separation capabilities.  During the visit, David witnessed a test separating steel wire and magnetics from rubber crumb.  The high intensity magnetic field of the Stainless Steel Separator ensures that no magnetically susceptible particles are left in the rubber.  The reclaimed rubber is then used in children’s playgrounds and for equestrian applications.

David was also shown the technical laboratory.  In the technical laboratory, David was able to see a comprehensive range of high intensity magnetic separators.  Tests are conducted on a wide range of materials for the recycling and mineral processing industry.  The Master Magnets laboratory is one of only a few in the world where it is possible to undertaken extensive laboratory test on minerals.  Equipment such as the Rare Earth Roll Magnetic Separator and Induced Magnetic Roll Separator are used to remove para and weakly magnetic minerals from non-metallic minerals such as feldspar and silica sand.

We wish to thank David for taking the time to visit us and look forward to seeing his photos in a future issue of HUB-4.
