SCB series Permanent Overband Separator

The Master Mag SCB series overband separator is self cleaning and has a longer service life than the Type K overband due to its heavy-duty construction. The SCB overband acheives this longer service life because it has a bigger frame, larger pulley shafts, heavy duty bearings and enhanced guards. Optionally an armoured plate belt can be fitted to the separator to extend the life of the belt.

The SCB overbelt magnet is mainly used within the quarrying, mining and recycling industries where it would be positioned either inline over the head pulley or across a conveyor belt. The SCB incorporates many of the features that makes the Type K overband a success, such as easy maintenance.

Applications

SCB overband separators can be used in a wide variety of applications similar to the Type K overband magnet but are generally used in more arduous applications.

Typical example of applications are;

Installation on Mobile Crushers, Screens and Shredders
Installation within a MRF (Material Recovery Facility) plant
Separation of ferrous contamination in quarries
Removal of ferrous materials in mining operations
Used in Wood Waste processing applications

Models

Master Magnets limited supply SCB overband magnets to operate over 150mm - 2000mm conveyor belts. For large conveyor belt widths overband magnets can be custom designed to suit specific applications. Additional support structures can also be supplied.

The SCB self cleaning overband magnet will incorporate a Tri-polar design. The Tri-polar design utilizes massive steel side members to effectively give three poles across the bottom face of the magnet, therefore intensifying the field in the centre of the magnet block.

The Tri Polar Advantages;

Reduces magnetic leakage
Reduces belt damage
Produces a cleaner frame
Achieves a slightly better extraction

To give the overband magnet a longer belt life (especially when handling abrasive materials) an armored belt can be fitted as an optional extra.

Also heat resistant belting can also be supplied to allow the SCB overband to operate at higher ambient temperatures.
