The show organisers of RWM have recently stated that the show has been growing by more than 8% each year since 2005, in both exhibitor numbers and floor space. This is a great indication that the Recycling sector is continuing to grow, despite the uncertainty of the UK economy.

For Master Magnets in particular, the Recycling sector provides a large portion of the company’s business and over the last 12 months this portion has grown significantly. This is primarily due to the rapid increase in the material prices for scrap steel, aluminium and copper. The value of Aluminium has risen by around 30% and ferrous material prices have more or less doubled, which in turn, has increased the demand for high quality metal separation equipment.

However, it is not only when material prices are high that magnets are of great benefit to the industry. In many processes, such as glass, plastics or wood chip recycling for example, the primary objective is to achieve a clean end product and any metals that occur will devalue the processed material and must be removed in order to maximise returns.

This year, Master Magnets will be demonstrating an Overband Magnet and an Eddy Current Separator on stand 984. Overband Magnets are one of the most widely used types of magnetic separator on the market today. The self-cleaning units allow for a continuous separation of ferrous metals and provide a long and trouble free service life.

As mentioned above, we will also be demonstrating one of our Eddy Current Can Sorting systems on our stand this year. Master Magnets have sold 10 of these particular machines since the model made its first appearance at the trade show in 2009.
