Recent increases in the value of aluminium have put the sales of Master Magnets Eddy Current Separators at an all time high.
| The Mastermag factory has become extremely busy over the last month as the production team have been working tremendously hard to handle the recent surge in ECS output. The amount of Eddy Current Separator sales in the last month accounts for more than 26% of the total ECS sales that have been received so far in 2009. The correlation between the value of aluminium and the popularity of the Mastermag range of ECS units has always been quite distinct. Many of the companies that have purchased these machines from Master Magnets will have seen just how short the payback period is for this type of equipment, especially at times when the value of aluminium is particularly high. The quick return on investment that is achieved with ECS units has prompted many of them to become repeat customers, buying a second, third and sometimes a fourth unit. | Depending on the throughput that a customer processes on their ECS, the units can very easily pay for themselves within a twelve month period. With this in mind, many of Master Magnet’s existing ECS customers have requested units that can handle throughput rates that were too large for the 1500mm wide ECS unit (Previously the widest Eddy Current Separator in the Master Magnets range). As enquiries for machines that could handle these throughputs became more and more frequent, Master Magnets began manufacturing the ECS200.As shown in the above image, the ECS200 located in the centre, has a 2 metre wide conveyor belt, capable of processing up to 35 tonnes per hour (depending on the bulk density of the product stream). The model shown in the image also has a Rare Earth Drum Magnet that is installed immediately after the vibratory feeder for removing any ferrous material, which may be present in the product stream. Nick Cooke, Land Energy writes: “Our Mastermag Eddy Current Separator is providing a great separation of non-ferrous metals from our wood chip product and the services that we received from Master Magnets throughout the buying process were very helpful. When dealing with shredded wood applications, it is also particularly important that ferrous materials are not present in the end product so we opted for a Rare Earth Drum Magnet to be fitted onto our unit and this has proved to be just as reliable and cost effective.” Entering the Christmas period can be quite daunting for many companies in the manufacturing industry as generating new business can become less frequent. Having hit sales targets for both October and November though, the Master Magnets factory should remain busy well into the New Year. |
