In listing the help of Master Magnets Ltd, a framework was designed and built that Brunel himself would have been proud of. Linking the whole system together in a structure that protects the machinery ensures the material is transferred from one section of the operation to another with the minimum of spillage, and all the relevant areas are easily and safely accessible for maintenance, cleaning and adjustment.
 
Master Magnets are best known in the UK as one of the leading suppliers of magnetic separators, metal detectors and recycling equipment, exporting their products all over the world. Since the acquisition of Integrated Recycling Systems Ltd, the parent company Master Magnets Ltd have the expertise to design and manufacture complete plants for recycling and other metal separation processes with over 200 years of accumulated knowledge.

The Master’s were therefore contacted to design and manufacture the support structure, including access stairways, walkways and safety guarding. In addition to that two belt conveyors were designed to fit within the available operating area and to efficiently carry the material.
 
Shortly after the commissioning of the system Thompson’s were able to realise in full the anticipated benefits the plant would bring. This plant will reduce the weight of material being dumped in landfills by 80-90%. This will create a big saving, as landfill tax is in the excess of £20 per ton, so it’s estimated that the plant will recoup the capital expenditure in less than 6 months.
